Tax Season Without the Dread: 1-Click Accounting CSV Exports

Let's be honest about something: accounting is not the reason most people start a small business.

You started because you love what you make, or you found a gap in the market, or you wanted to work for yourself. The paperwork is the price you pay for the freedom — and it can be a painful one if you don't have good systems.

The 1-Click Accounting CSV Export powerup is designed to be one less painful thing.

The Problem with Manual Record-Keeping

Here's what happens without a system:

You take orders via WhatsApp. Payments go to Stripe or your bank. Some are cash. Some are card. Somewhere there's a delivery fee. A discount code was applied to three of the orders. You didn't write it down at the time because you were busy packing. Come January, you're reconstructing your entire year from WhatsApp chat history and a bank statement.

This is inefficient, error-prone, and stressful.

What the CSV Export Gives You

Every order that comes through your Whizzly storefront is recorded with full structured data:

• Order ID and date/time
• Customer name and contact details
• Line items: product name, quantity, unit price
• Subtotal, delivery fee, discount applied, total
• Payment method and payment status
• VAT breakdown (if you're VAT-registered — Whizzly handles this correctly)
• Fulfilment status (pending, dispatched, collected, refunded)

When you click Export, you can generate a CSV covering any date range you choose — a specific month, a financial quarter, or the full year.

Which Format?

The export is available in three formats:

• Standard CSV: Opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers
• Xero-compatible format: Matches Xero's expected column headers for direct import into your Xero accounts
• QuickBooks-compatible format: Same for QuickBooks Online

If your accountant uses a different platform, the standard CSV is importable to virtually any bookkeeping software with a data import feature.

A Note on VAT

If you're VAT-registered, Whizzly stores the VAT-inclusive and VAT-exclusive values for every order, based on the rate you've set in your dashboard (standard UK rate, reduced rate, or zero rate per product). The export includes both figures and the VAT amount separately.

If you're not VAT-registered yet, these columns are simply blank.

We always recommend having a qualified accountant review your records. The export makes their job (and your bill) smaller.
